The City of London invited me to provide them with a Short Breaks audit and action plan as part of a policy audit and review for their implementation of the government programme Aiming Higher for Disabled Children. Conducted in March 2010 the study involved

• consulting and conducting interviews with parents, staff within the City of London authority and the neighboring / local authorities of Hackney, Islington, Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Westminster and Camden 
• a review of the existing City of London policy and provision
• an audit of national guidance and best practice
• providing a policy implementation plan to cover the core offer, including commissioning additional services and identifying possible providers 
• creating a directory of available provision across the spectrum of need
